Honeycomb comes in packs of 200 gms and above, it is cut from the comb and is its most pure state as it is not treated or strained in anyway. It can be consumed many ways, eaten as it comes, spread on warm crumpets or toasted muffins. It can be used on top of pancakes, oatmeal or yogurt. It can also be eaten alongside fruit, aged cheeses or Charcuterie.
It contains antioxidants and is anti-bacterial and anti-microbial, chewing it can help with sore throats, colds, sinusitis and helps children with coughs if a spoonful is given at night to help them have a restful sleep.
Shillingford Farm Bees have produced a lovely crop this year, it is darker than last year which means its higher in antioxidants, it is best enjoyed straight from the hive. This was harvested from both Field and Orchard bees, the bees in the orchard producing the most.
